This year Livable Buckhead's Miracle on Peachtree series puts its biggest moments on two Saturdays. Saturday, Dec. 5 belongs to Buckhead Village and Charlie Loudermilk Park. Saturday, Dec. 12 belongs to Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza and the stretch of Peachtree Road between them. Each Saturday has its own hot chocolate crawl with its own check-in point. Only the first ends at a tree.
The two days work differently. Dec. 5 is a full afternoon and evening in which each event hands you to the next, starting at noon and ending after dark. Dec. 12 is a three-hour stroll centered on the malls. The mall calendars place smaller events around both Saturdays, so the season looks more like two linked weekends than one long run of dates.
November opens at a mall and a tree lot
Big John's Christmas Trees counts this season as its 77th. The family-owned business has been selling trees in Atlanta since 1949, and its site says fresh trees arrive Wednesday, Nov. 18. The Buckhead lot at 302 E. Paces Ferry Road NE is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Along with trees, Big John's sells wreaths, roping, stands, lights and ornaments, so the lot covers most of what a front door and a mantel need.
Lenox Square starts its own season a few days earlier. Its 2026 holiday lineup begins Santa photos on Saturday, Nov. 14 and runs them through Dec. 24. Opening day runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. After the first weekend, Santa is off Monday, Nov. 16 through Thursday, Nov. 19, and again on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26. Christmas Eve is shorter, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Santa photo page lists the hours for each day in between.
The first Santa Paws evening follows on Sunday, Nov. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. The second Santa Paws night is Sunday, Dec. 13, the day after the Lenox crawl.
Saturday, Dec. 5: one long handoff in Buckhead Village
The first Saturday in December is the busiest single day of Buckhead's season, and the schedule is built so that each event leads into the next. Here is the day in order:
| Time | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 12 to 2 p.m. | Wreath decorating and card signing for Atlanta's fire rescue stations and police precincts | The Veranda, Buckhead Village |
| 1:30 p.m. | Atlanta Opera holiday performance | Luxury Wing, Lenox Square |
| 2 to 3 p.m. | First responder wreath pickup and celebration | The Veranda |
| 3 to 7 p.m. | Miracle on Peachtree Holiday Market | Charlie Loudermilk Park |
| 4:45 p.m. | Hot chocolate crawl doors open | The Veranda, 217 Buckhead Avenue NE |
| 5 to 7 p.m. | Hot chocolate crawl | Buckhead Village District |
| 7 p.m. | Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting | Charlie Loudermilk Park |
Midday at The Veranda
The day starts with a project for the whole city. At The Veranda, tables hold wreaths and decorating supplies, and volunteers make wreaths and sign cards for all 43 fire rescue stations and police precincts across Atlanta. Livable Buckhead describes it as a drop-in event: you can stay for a few minutes or the whole two hours. First responders pick up the wreaths from 2 to 3 p.m.
The same hours bring the one Lenox Square event that overlaps the Village program. The Atlanta Opera performs seasonal favorites in the Luxury Wing at 1:30 p.m. If you start your Saturday at the mall, the opera wraps up before the market opens at 3 p.m.
Afternoon in Charlie Loudermilk Park
From 3 to 7 p.m., the Miracle on Peachtree Holiday Market fills Charlie Loudermilk Park with artisans, makers and specialty vendors. Livable Buckhead lists handmade goods, artwork, home décor and seasonal items. The market is separate from the crawl. The 2026 crawl listing suggests shopping the market first, then walking over to The Veranda once the crawl opens at 5.
Evening on the cobblestones
The Village crawl runs from 5 to 7 p.m., with check-in at The Veranda, 217 Buckhead Avenue NE. Participating boutiques, restaurants and hotels serve hot and cold holiday drinks, some spiked and some not, and musicians perform around the district. Admission is free and the crawl is open to all ages. Parking is paid. A commemorative campfire mug costs $8 plus tax, and the money supports Livable Buckhead's community programs. Alcoholic drinks are sold separately at participating locations. RSVPs go through the Buckhead Village crawl listing on Eventbrite.
The crawl's 7 p.m. end is also the start time for the lighting in Charlie Loudermilk Park, so leave your last stop a few minutes early. Buckhead's 24-foot tree, supplied by Traditions, is lit along with a menorah at a free, family-friendly ceremony. Livable Buckhead's own description has guests starting with hot cocoa in the Village and then strolling to the lighting.
That is close to seven straight hours of programming with almost no gaps. You can join at any point and pick up the next event from there.
The Lenox side fills the week that follows
The second center of the season sits up Peachtree Road around the two malls, and its week has a different rhythm. The Village packs everything into one day. At Lenox and Phipps, events are spread across the days leading up to Dec. 12 and the Sunday after it.
- Tuesday, Dec. 1, 6 p.m. The Teal to Heal Fashion Show returns to Lenox Square's Luxury Wings on Giving Tuesday to raise ovarian cancer awareness. Tickets are sold through Lenox Square.
- Thursday, Dec. 3. Phipps Plaza holds Grinch on The Green, an outdoor movie night on its lawn.
- Sunday, Dec. 6, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Lenox Square hosts Caring Santa, a private, sensory-friendly visit with Santa. Reservations are required.
- Saturday, Dec. 12, 4 to 7 p.m. The second Miracle on Peachtree crawl, centered on Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza.
- Sunday, Dec. 13, 7 to 9 p.m. The season's second Santa Paws evening at Lenox Square.
The Caring Santa morning comes the day after the Village lighting, and the second Santa Paws night comes the day after the Lenox crawl. The quieter Lenox events fall on the Sundays that follow each big Saturday, so each weekend pairs a crowded Saturday with a calmer Sunday.
How the Dec. 12 crawl differs
The Lenox and Phipps crawl starts an hour earlier than the Village one, at 4 p.m., and runs until 7. Check-in is at Lenox Square. Commemorative mugs are $8 each and sold at both Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. Boutiques, restaurants and hotels along the route serve hot and cold drinks, spiked and alcohol-free, and performers play across the district. Admission is free here too. Livable Buckhead describes the route as a stroll along Peachtree Road, with Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza and nearby shops as the backdrop.
No market and no lighting ceremony come before or after it. The evening is the crawl and nothing else, which gives you a short, simple outing a week after the long Village day. Livable Buckhead pitches the two crawls as a pair, each with its own feel, and invites people to come to both. Since they fall a week apart in two different parts of Buckhead, going to both is easy to plan.
Fitting both weekends onto one calendar
Taken together, the 2026 season breaks into a few clear blocks:
- Mid-November: Santa photos open at Lenox Square on Nov. 14, Big John's trees arrive on East Paces Ferry on Nov. 18, and the first Santa Paws night is Nov. 22.
- Dec. 1 through Dec. 6: Teal to Heal, the Grinch on The Green, the full Village day on Dec. 5, and Caring Santa the next morning.
- Dec. 12 and 13: the Lenox and Phipps crawl, then the second Santa Paws night.
- Through Dec. 24: Santa photos continue at Lenox Square, closed only Nov. 16 through 19 and on Thanksgiving.
If you can only go to one Saturday, Dec. 5 has more in it. If you'd rather keep a December evening short, Dec. 12 is three hours in one area with check-in at Lenox Square. Both crawls are free, and each sells an $8 commemorative mug.
I'm Lauren Bowling, and I follow these calendars because they show how a neighborhood uses its public spaces once the weather turns. If you're thinking about where in intown Atlanta you'd want to spend next December, from a walkable village center to the blocks around Peachtree Road, I'm glad to talk it through with you.
